The Comic

Breathless is a fantasy/action comic that tells the story of Jesse Williams, an average teenager with an unusual problem…he’s just found out that he has a twin brother and is a long-lost descendent of an ancient, powerful family. With a rag-tag band of followers who have sworn to protect him, it’s up to Jesse to find out the truth and save the world from falling into an ancient war. Updates on Wednesdays!

The World

Carasonians are a species evolved from dragons. They once lived in a world separate from Earth, but in the early 1980s a portal opened between the two worlds. Called “the rift,” this allowed Carasonians to escape their war-torn home to Earth. They mostly populate large cities in the United States, but have been known to also have clans across the globe.

Carasonians separate themselves into small family groups, or clans, and own pieces, or “territories”, of the cities they live in. Clans are run by a Clan Leader who is supported by his or her Clan Mates. Clan Mates are usually related to each other, but not always, and new members are brought in by initiation or marriage to a member already in the clan.

A “halfbred” is a nickname for anyone who has one Carasonian parent and one Human parent. Their physical features usually include light colored hair and eyes, a slightly smaller frame and a paler skin tone then their “fullbred” counterparts.

The Author

Born into an artistic household, Rose grew up drawing and penning stories. She discovered comics in high school and fell in love, and has been writing and drawing graphic novels ever since. During day she works as an Art Director at a design and marketing agency, and by night she changes into her comic-book-loving alter ego to illustrate her webcomic Breathless and share her love of art with the world.
